descripion:
The script of Fleeting Instincts revolves around transience—both in the sense of death and impermanence, as well as lightness, imagination, and poetry.
Mrs. Koch portrays the cold, mechanical approach to human beings characteristic of Western medicine. The disintegration of the play’s language reflects the absurdity of hospital rituals surrounding love and death.
Flypaper is a humorous attempt to find poetry and lightness even in the most trivial experiences of endings—such as the death of flies trapped on a kitchen flypaper.
The grotesque excerpt from Vivisection, in which the characters “over-contemplate” a comb, confronts our yearning for transcendence with the stark absence of the sacred in everyday life. (…)
