This is a theatrical-football showdown that can take place anywhere—on a neighborhood field, on stage, in a classroom, or even online. The performance highlights that a spectacle is not just theater, but also a football match and life itself, where, beyond the necessity of playing, one must navigate rules that are not always clearly defined.
The protagonists—two boys and a girl—play football. As they recount what happened on the field, they share their dreams and ambitions. In their imagination, Zlatan Ibrahimović appears—the uncompromising footballer who, as a young player, persistently pursued his dreams. The titular Zlatan is their idol, and his goals—scored with audacious toe kicks—represent the pinnacle of daring. Through this interpersonal game, the performance explores themes of teamwork, cooperation, and rivalry.
The play was written and directed by Tomasz Kaczorowski. His drama z czuba albo #byćjakzlatanibrahimovic was developed as part of Centrum Dramatu Najnowszego at Teatr im. Juliusza Słowackiego w Krakowie, published in the 42nd edition of Nowe Sztuki dla Dzieci i Młodzieży, and awarded in the national competition for children's and youth theater plays organized by Centrum Sztuki Dziecka w Poznaniu.
The world premiere will take place at Szkoła Podstawowa nr 7 w Gnieźnie, with performances scheduled throughout the year in Gniezno and nearby towns. The production is funded by Instytut Teatralny im. Zbigniewa Raszewskiego as part of Konkurs im. Jana Dormana.
Konkurs im. Jana Dormana for school-based theater productions was created to enhance the artistic quality of performances presented in educational institutions. Its goal is both to support schools by offering a rich and diverse repertoire tailored to students' age and needs and to encourage theater companies to embrace the challenges of direct engagement with audiences outside traditional theater spaces. The competition honors Jan Dorman—a visionary of Polish theater, director, educator, and long-time director of Teatr Dzieci Zagłębia w Będzinie.
