description:

Meetings of adults, seen from the perspective of children, are terribly boring. Little Staś Witkiewicz has had enough! He doesn’t want to hear "stop being boring" again, especially when it's the adult world that's boring... and how boring it is! How do children, gifted with extraordinary imagination, cope with this? They transform this boredom and conventions into an uninhibited world full of colors – into play.

review:

"The performance, in the spirit of Witkacy, is a masterpiece of form! From the very moment the curtain rises, like swallowing a magical elixir, the audience is transported into the world of a child – narrow, enclosed, and focused on a fragment of a reality that is too vast to comprehend. The set design immediately forces a shift in perspective. The stage is filled with enormous legs of a table and a part of a hanging tablecloth, from which the only child – eight-year-old Staś Witkiewicz – invites us into his world of fantasy."

"The performance is a masterful refinement of the forms used. Each of the three presented child dramas by Witkacy is a sophisticated and intelligent combination of the author's character and artistry with contemporary knowledge about the artist."

"The thoughtful, perfectly chosen form of the performance Karaluchy, along with the music by Miłosz Sienkiewicz that complements the action and amplifies the emotions, deepens the dreamlike immersion in the world of events presented on stage. Through projectors and transparencies, we get to know the imaginative world of Kalunio, which blends the realm of fairy tales with reality."

"The set design, costumes, music, and 'formal techniques' (which were written about by the adult Witkacy – artist, aesthetician, and creator of the theory of Pure Form) transport the audience to another dimension (time and place) and compel them to adopt a forgotten perspective 'from below,' reminding us that the most interesting and mysterious things are always those that lie beneath and are often unnoticed."

"The protagonist, brilliantly played by Mateusz Krzyżewski, escapes from a family gathering into the world of imagination. There, with the involvement of his parents, played by Anna Rau and Maciej Gierłowski, he creates stories, which are then presented to the audience in a very engaging, multimedia way. But the camera and projectors are merely an addition to the director's staging ideas."

"The director took a versatile approach to theatrical language, offering colorful stories using a projector (...), with the use of a video camera, masks, puppets, and marionettes. Especially the camera following the characters allowed for the deconstruction of the depicted world, deepening the impression of theatre within theatre."
